It often produces <strong>very satisfactory results<\/strong> by rejuvenating the eye contours and refreshing the look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">The procedure is usually performed under <strong>local<\/strong> anesthesia, with or without light sedation. General anesthesia can also be used upon request. The operation takes <strong>approximately<\/strong> one hour on average. After one to two hours of rest, you may go home, unless an overnight observation is desired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">For the <strong>upper<\/strong> eyelids, excess skin and fat are removed through a fine incision in the natural fold of the eyelid. For the <strong>lower<\/strong> eyelids, the incision is made just below the eyelash line if there is also excess skin. If not, fat removal can be done completely <strong>without visible scars<\/strong> via the <strong>endo-conjunctival route<\/strong> (on the inside of the eyelid).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">A bandage is not required, but may be applied for several hours to reduce <strong>swelling<\/strong> and bruising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">The marks of the procedure may remain visible for <strong>8 to 10 days<\/strong>, but it is possible to resume your daily activities, for example with sunglasses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">This procedure is <strong>technically sophisticated but light<\/strong>, and has <strong>no effect on the eyeball or vision<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Complications are rare<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">In rare cases, an <strong>ectropion<\/strong> (outward turning of the lower eyelid) can occur, usually if the surgical technique is not performed correctly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.392), 18px);px\" class=\" translation-block\">The result is a <strong>rejuvenated eye contour<\/strong>, but as with any aesthetic procedure, a repeat procedure may be considered after a few years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"ablocks-block ablocks-block-622cdb07-ebf9-4aa7-8c33-801862467dc6 ablocks-block--image\"><figure class=\"ablocks-image-figure\"><picture><source media=\"(min-width:800px)\" class=\"ablocks-image\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vision-centrum.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Blepharochalasis-1024x1024.jpg\"\/><source media=\"(min-width:480px)\" class=\"ablocks-image-tablet\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vision-centrum.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Blepharochalasis.jpg\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vision-centrum.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Blepharochalasis.jpg\" class=\"ablocks-image-mobile ablocks-image--effect ablocks-image--effect-static\" alt=\"\" title=\"Blepharochalasis\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/picture><\/figure><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Blepharoplastiek is een fijne en nauwkeurige chirurgische ingreep ter correctie van de bovenste en\/of onderste oogleden.
